MINCEM provided expert services to a Kenya-based lead assessor company to investigate a claim submitted by a cement manufacturing company in Kenya regarding a crack that developed in the kiln shell, resulting in shell replacement and a major plant shutdown.
MINCEM’s scope of services included:
- Conducting a site visit to inspect the cracked kiln shell
- Reviewing and analyzing the inputs and data provided by the claimant
- Preparing a detailed report identifying the probable cause(s) of the crack formation
- Advising on best practices to prevent recurrence of such failures in the future
